Aegis was the name of Zeus's shield, making it an appropriate name for a plate carrier. Unlike Zeus's shield, the ATS Aegis plate carrier is a scalable system that allows for application to many different mission sets.
The Aegis is sized on small, medium, large and XL ESAPI plates, as well as the 10X12 inch plate common to law enforcement. The plate pockets are made so that they can take straight, curved, or multi-curved plates, and are held closed by heavy duty Velcro on the plate pocket flap. The back side of the pocket that rests against the wearer has a thin closed cell foam pad under a layer of Aero Spacer wicking material. Adjustable two inch webbing with removable shoulder pads make up the upper suspension system.
The upper chest area of the Aegis has PALS webbing over Velcro, with Velcro sewn to the PALS webbing for attaching MOLLE compatible pouches like the ATS Combat Leader Admin Pouch, but also provides an attachment point for Law Enforcement identifier placards. There are four channels and three rows of MOLLE space on the upper section, with an additional six channels and three rows of MOLLE on the front flap. The lower two rows of PALS webbing are also covered with soft side Velcro to interface with the back side Velcro of the ATS Slimline Modular Chest Harnesses. There are also two ITW/Nexus Quick Attach Surface Mount buckles to interface with the Slimline Modular Chest Harnesses.
The back panel of the Aegis features a box-X stitched drag handle with one row of four channels of PALS at the top of the carrier, followed by 5 rows and 6 channels of PALS. There is a 6 inch tall and 9½ inch wide grid of soft side Velcro to attach identifier placards to.
The Aegis V2 comes with the military version cummerbund that can accept side plates up to 6X6 inches. The cummerbund has three rows of PALS webbing for attaching any MOLLE compatible pouches or accessories. There is an optional Hybrid cummerbund, available separately, that can be used with the system, and the ATS Chest Harness Adapter Kit that allows the integration of the ATS Slimline Chest Harness with the use of four ITW/Nexus QASM buckles.

I purchased this because my unit is finally allowing us to wear plate carriers instead of the IOTVs. It’s small, light and allows full range of motion while running and gunning. It’s something that can be worn for hours at a time comfortably. While it is small it still protects all the important areas of the body. It’s construction is of high quality material. I am very pleased with this purchase. Customer service was also exceptional and delivery was fast.
I kept shopping around for a plate carrier. Looked at most of the options from reputable brands in the ~250$ price range and kept coming back to ATS. This plate carrier offers more value in this price range than anything else I could find. Stitching is excellet, plate pockets are nice and snug. Shoulders could have a litte more padding, but that's personal preference. I've worn this around quite a bit and have to say that I find it much more comfortable than the issued IOTV, IBA and PC. 10/10 would buy again.
I ordered this PC after using a friends on the range for a day. I got the Multicam one and the buckle kit that allows me to quickly clip into my chest rig. This PC is comfortable and moves with the body well. After doing some room clearing training where i was climbing in and out of windows and up and down ladders i believe this is a great PC. it is comfortable and comes with some cool features that are not make or break but sweeten the deal i guess you could say, the mesh padding on the inside is nice and breathable. the side panels come with the ability to insert side plates, and it also comes with top padding on the straps which is nice. It is a great price point and i have already recommended this to many co workers!
I recently purchased an Aegis V2 plate carrier, and I am very impressed with the level of customer service I received in researching the type of plates I wanted as well as the carrier to hold them. I had only used Kevlar body armor during my service days, so I had a ton of questions, and the staff answered them all promptly. I am very impressed with the level quality with this product, and the war belt as well. The only thing that I can recommend is providing more mag pouch options, as I do not use standard NATO rounds in my loadout, and my mags work ok in the double mag pouch, singly, but definitely not in pairs, and the pouch works fine, but could use a little more material higher to secure the mag. I truly appreciate your entire crew's attention to detail,, the quality and pride in our beloved country, and taking the time to make quality, locally sourced and built equipment. It truly shows in the end result. Please pass my thanks and appreciation on to your team, and I look forward to doing business with you in the future.
Everything feels rock solid. Glad to support a Kentucky company was impressed to know this states make argubably one of the best, most used plate carriers.
I love that it holds my plates up high where they need to be and greatly improves my mobility over the IOTV. There is still plenty of real estate for all of your essential equipment. Aesthetically I like that the webbing and velcro is camouflaged too. The price is just right. For the same price as other 'bare-bones' carriers you get padding for the plates and shoulders and pockets for side plates. Customer service was great! They were able to help with an order customization that better fits my mission needs. They were quick with their responses and very polite. My only suggestion is that if you have a thin frame and don't wear side plates, you might want to get a one size smaller cummerbund. I have to tie down the back flap to the cummerbund when I have no side plates because I have it tucked in so far. Overall I am very pleased with it and I look forward to improving/replacing my kit with other ATS products in the future.
I ordered my plate carrier about a year ago and have used it on a regular basis in a LE capacity. The carrier looks and works as good as it did when I first bought it. It is durable, comfortable and rock solid. Great product!!!
I love this plate carrier. It's the 3rd I own. This one certainly provides the highest mobility and holds tight to my body well. 100% recommend this to anyone.
I ordered this for both Military and SWAT training. I'm a small guy, so one of my main concerns with plate carriers in general, was that even the small size would be too large for me. But this plate carrier was perfect. It's adjustable and fits me perfectly. One of my favorite features is that there's no extra material. The plate carrier is super comfortable, but there's no extra padding that extends past the plate itself, and there shouldn't be; it serves no purpose on typical plate carriers, it's not protecting you anyway. I love that feature.
