Review of the ATS CASEVAC Kit

Posted by Kevin on Aug 2nd 2025

The newest version of the ATS CASEVAC kit is, in my opinion, the most well-thought-out and well-constructed CASEVAC kit available today. Each section of this kit demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the needs and rigors of the CASEVAC phase of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). I purchased the M. CAM LiteLok version, and it is truly lightweight and also sturdy enough to handle the roughest CASEVAC, whether by ground or air. The stitching and seams are very robust, and the design of each pouch demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the needs of basic and advanced care providers. All pouches are secured by MOLLE Webbing. Below the first row, pouches have sewn and embroidered labeling. Each of these pouches has an individual adjustable securing webbing strap with a heavy-duty Fastex-style buckle and Tri-Glide slides. The pouches can be arranged based on the individual medic’s needs or unit standards. The top row holds three IFAK-sized pouches. The second through fourth rows are designed to hold a system setup on the S/MARCH/E design. The Airway and Suction pouches have blue pull handles representing Airway. The Airway pouch is set up to hold various airways, intubation equipment, and a clear section for a data card. The Suction pouch has webbing, an internal pouch to accommodate TCCC Suction equipment, and a clear data card holder. Three IV/IO pouches have adjustable loops for a fluid bag and an internal envelope-style pouch for hubs, extension sets, start kits, drip sets, alcohol/ betadine pads, and catheters. These pouches alone will speak volumes to an ALS provider on the wisdom of design. Two Bleeding Control pouches with red pull handles, fold out, with sewn-in loops to hold dressings and bandages, and these also have a clear data card holder. The Junctional pouch has a red pull handle, internal loops, and will hold a Junctional Tourniquet. It has a data card holder. The two Plasma/ FDP pouches have red pull handles, are padded and have a padded divider. The outside of each of the Plasma/ FDP pouches also has an additional flexible retention strap to further protect the Plasma/ FDP pouch top from opening unexpectedly. There is enough room for a Plasma Bag, or a Freeze Dried Plasma and reconstitution unit, and a warmer system. On the reverse side of the Kit, each side has a large, zippered pouch that will open from either side allowing the user to carry, store and access additional large and bulker items including burn sheets, trauma pads, a VS-17 panel, hypothermia prevention materials, and other items called for by organizational guidelines. The kit has a number of ways to secure it to an airframe or vehicle wall. Webbing straps, leather reinforced gromet and hook openings and heavy duty sewn loops give the user a number of options for attachment. The CASEVAC Kit can also be folded in half, secured with two heavy duty carry handles which secure with a Velcro secured warp and carried briefcase style. Every single part of the ATS CASEVAC Kit is purpose built and the design shows thinking and engineering by some of the best care providers and warriors. It will also exceed the standards required for the most rigorous and demanding environments wherever you go to carry out the CASEVAC mission.
