Aegis was the name of Zeus's shield, making it an appropriate name for a plate carrier. Unlike Zeus's shield, the ATS Aegis plate carrier is a scalable system that allows for application to many different mission sets.
The Aegis is sized on small, medium, large and XL ESAPI plates, as well as the 10X12 inch plate common to law enforcement. The plate pockets are made so that they can take straight, curved, or multi-curved plates, and are held closed by heavy duty Velcro on the plate pocket flap. The back side of the pocket that rests against the wearer has a thin closed cell foam pad under a layer of Aero Spacer wicking material. Adjustable two inch webbing with removable shoulder pads make up the upper suspension system.
The upper chest area of the Aegis has PALS webbing over Velcro, with Velcro sewn to the PALS webbing for attaching MOLLE compatible pouches like the ATS Combat Leader Admin Pouch, but also provides an attachment point for Law Enforcement identifier placards. There are four channels and three rows of MOLLE space on the upper section, with an additional six channels and three rows of MOLLE on the front flap. The lower two rows of PALS webbing are also covered with soft side Velcro to interface with the back side Velcro of the ATS Slimline Modular Chest Harnesses. There are also two ITW/Nexus Quick Attach Surface Mount buckles to interface with the Slimline Modular Chest Harnesses.
The back panel of the Aegis features a box-X stitched drag handle with one row of four channels of PALS at the top of the carrier, followed by 5 rows and 6 channels of PALS. There is a 6 inch tall and 9½ inch wide grid of soft side Velcro to attach identifier placards to.
The Aegis V2 comes with the military version cummerbund that can accept side plates up to 6X6 inches. The cummerbund has three rows of PALS webbing for attaching any MOLLE compatible pouches or accessories. There is an optional Hybrid cummerbund, available separately, that can be used with the system, and the ATS Chest Harness Adapter Kit that allows the integration of the ATS Slimline Chest Harness with the use of four ITW/Nexus QASM buckles.

This is the BEST carrier on the market for being everything you need and nothing more. This is a scalable armor solution that fit many mission profiles. Cant go wrong. How ATS makes money on these is beyond me. Just ran my new kit on an 86 degree day at 60% humidity and let me tell you, the mesh on the inside works very well. It's still HOT, but not nearly as hot as straight up fabric on your body. High Quality. Thank You ATS!!!!!
The overall quality is fantastic. It accepts my chest rig without issue. Wish I had known about the Aegis sooner, and it would've been my first and only plate carrier. Definitely recommending to others.

Finally had the chance to try the jpc, and I gotta say the Aegis feels more comfortable. The plate bags on the jpc are not padded, and not fully meshed. The shoulder pads on the jpc is too wide in my opinion, would rather have the shoulder pads closer to my neck. Just change the cummerbund to the hybrid on the ATS and you wont be disappointed.
I've been looking for an alternative to the JPC for some time and after a bit of research I've settled on purchasing the Aegis V2 from ATS. Having received it in the mail last month, it's already served me a couple of weekends at the range and a little bit of time in the field training; So far I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. The construction of the carrier is great, durable, and sturdy. Built to last as others have mentioned. I've ordered a medium and stand at about 5'10 weighing in at 160~lbs. I also have medium sized ESAPI plates which fit the carrier very well, absolutely no issues there. It fits me perfectly, not too tight and not too loose. The padding feels great and not to mention it's so light! An excellent plate carrier that I'd recommend to anyone remotely interested. I look forward to rocking this for many more months to come.
I received my ATS Aegis Plate carrier V2 on August 9, 2018. It is awesome! A soldier in my unit has one, so I had asked about it. I had been looking on line but could not base my decision off pictures. I also researched videos on YouTube to help with my decision and keep coming back to ATS Aegis. It is a great investment. I got a large thinking I should have gone x-large but nope plates fit perfect and the large is spot on. I am 5’10” and weigh 220 If you’re looking for a well-made well stitched plate carrier this is the one I wouldn’t recommend any other. If need be I would purchase again ....Gator Out.
FYSA: All U.S. Army personnel being issued SAPI plates, here is how the ATS Aegis 2 carrier is compatible: *Size Small will hold XS, S, and M SAPI plates effectively *Size Medium will hold M and L, SAPI Plates effectively *Size L will hold L, XL, and XXL SAPI Plates effectively The ATS Aegis V2 is directly compatible with the Army-issue Tactical Assault Panel (now issued in the standard rifleman's kit). It Clips right in. This allows for quick use, and is one of the best reasons to utilize this carrier if you are in the Army. The other great reason I recommend this for Army personnel is its light weight, and high comfort! **PLEASE NOTE: Many U.S. Army Units expressly forbid the use of commercial plate carriers; consult your chain of command before purchase!
Very durable with high quality material, great maneuverability, my medium plates fit perfectly, exactly what I expected and it was very well worth the money i would definitely recommend it if your looking for a quality plate carrier
I started watching this PC about a year ago, I checked several other PCs, have a PIG, dumped a crye, and the issued gear always sucks, I received my Aegis yesterday and almost finished setting it up, I am 5,9 and 178lbs, I ordered a small. It fits tight to my body which for me is a must, everything about this PC and the customer service has exceeded my expectations thus far, which is why I wanted you guys to know, after a few tours this will be my new PC of choice, it’s a very minimalist style PC, has the dry wick for sweat, everything is stitched properly, the velcro/Molle combo is execellent for admin and munition pouches, the padding between plates and body is nice, and i have plenty of room left after setting mine up the way i run my PC, after looking at the “oh shit” strap i feel pretty confident and comfortable with it, i have free range of motion which is a must. I will update you guys again, once i run it a few times, but give them a try in the mean time, ATS has earned my business, waiting to see what else they come up with. Thanks ATS
